Recently we’ve been admiring two iterations of night-black vases: a petite recycled-glass vessel from Ikea’s newest collaboration with Ilse Crawford and a hand-blown noir vase by Swedish designer Carina Seth Andersson, spotted via Artilleriet. Both would add a bit of deep, dark gloss to the nightstand or mantel. Take a look:
From Artilleriet
Above: The Black Pallo Vases are designed by glass and ceramic artist Carina Seth Andersson and hand-blown at Skruf Glassworks in Småland, Sweden. The small size (at right) is 4000 SEK, or $448.42 USD, at Artilleriet. Above: A closer look at the small Pallo vase.
From Ikea
Above: Ever admirers of Ilse Crawford’s collaborations with Ikea, we were pleased to see the latest Konstfull collection. The 4″ Konstfull Vase in Black is designed by Crawford and mouth-blown from repurposed scrap glass. It’s $4.99 from Ikea. Above: A look at the rest of the vases in the Ilse Crawford Konstfull collection, all made from recycled, repurposed glass.
N.B.: We’ve admired Andersson’s artful vases for a long while now; take a look at her clear-glass versions in High/Low: Sculptural Glass Scandinavian Vases.
